From Within and Without Anesthesia: Bill Maher’s Line in the Sand

Enough with dogmas and with silencing debate

I celebrated that it was Bill Maher—an old-school liberal, not a conservative—who finally said out loud what many had kept quiet: that the Democrats’ cowardice in failing to sideline and criticize their own extremists has cost them dearly.

Maher stated that separating sports by sex made —and still makes— perfect sense, and that denying that obvious truth was a gross error.

He further warned that those of us who opposed the progressive-socialist program were never going to validate the liberal pretension of “reinventing society” in the key of gender—multiplying identities as a matter of fashion—nor would we ever permit, under any circumstances, the transitioning of minors by self-diagnosis, without limits or even parental notification, even if, to halt that excess, it were necessary to place limits on democracy itself, as he noted.

@BillMaher also rejected the notion that asylum could be stretched to cover “any reason,” repudiated defining homelessness as a “lifestyle,” questioned the invalidation of natural immunity, denounced the notion of “toxic whiteness,” and opposed housing males in women’s prisons and “welcoming the intifada” out of mere tribal alignment.

He concluded that, if the old America is ever to be recovered, it fell to the Democrats to do their part: stop launching radical—often terrible—ideas and cease the habit of insisting that there be no debate about them.

He condemned the reflex by which, when a dissenter did not immediately accept the radical ideas liberals sought to impose, that person was branded evil, stupid, and deplorable…

The implosion came this time at the hands of Bill Maher; tomorrow it will come in the form of a vote…
